The Society for Disability Studies is proud to welcome you to its 21st annual conference. Whether you are a presenter, performer, participant, artist, or an activist interested in disability studies, you will find that the 2008 annual conference has a great deal to offer you. The 2008 conference will cover such diverse topics as disabilities and the media, music and disabilities, as well as international topics sure to attract many research and community interests such as those represented by the rapidly growing independent living movement.
The conference will be held from June 18, 2008 to June 21, 2008 at Baruch College of The City University of New York.
The conference facility at Baruch college is newly constructed and provides room for plenary sessions as well as breakout rooms. Located on the 14th floor of the Vertical Campus at Baruch College, the facility overlooks the Manhattan skyline and presents numerous opportunities for participants to taste the diverse New York City food and culture.
