In an effort to ensure that outstanding scholarship is recognized, SDS has established two awards to honor individuals who have shown dedication to Disability studies.
The SDS Senior Scholar Award recognizes scholars who have made a lasting and significant imprint on the field of Disability Studies. Senior Scholars have generated a body of outstanding work in disability studies, potentially including published scholarship, creative/artistic production, significant applied research, and other activities. They have also served as leaders and mentors in this field. This award is not limited by discipline, area of study, or by SDS membership.
